Not So Usual
Posted by MikeyMike at 11:56 PM on February 5, 2004.
More
Jason Mraz live... his
So Unusual. Really like this one! Enough to put it in the
Contents barrel...
This is the most unusual story
of a most unusual girl
She's the paint in my picture
of a most unusual world
She can crawl out a frame
while she's hanging on the wall
And she's calling my name
she's not so usual
She's most unusual
Shes not so usual
She's so unusual
She's mostly a ghost
the way she watches over me
She complains when I smoke
but then you do the same to me
She's controlling my brain activity
knowing when I go to sleep
She'll catch me when I'm falling hard
she's so unusual
She's not so usual
She's not so usual
She's so unusual
She's not so
hooked on the drugs like I thought she was
And never suckin' on the lime and hardly sippin' on the wine
And despite
of her bi-polar roller coastering
I think I can trust she'll keep me singing differently
And that's fine
'Cause she's with me now most all of the time
Trying and savin' the light
Thinking not of her own
And always kissing me goodnight
When I just need to be alone
She's so sweet
So discrete
-She's exactly what I need
Not even make believe...
she's not so usual...
She's so unusual
She's not so usual
So unusual
Oh, Not so usual
and not to practual either,
What's that, she's
not so mystical
but not to magical neither,
I said she's
not so out of control
and not so used to the full
she's not so usual
naw she's a natural
oh, she's not so
usual
shes most usual
she's not so usual
shes so unusual

Record industry enforcer raids Kazaa offices
Posted by MikeyMike at 12:42 AM on February 6, 2004.
This just in...
The enforcement arm of the Australian record industry has raided the premises of Sharman Networks and its proprietor, Nicola Hemming, in what it says is a bid to stop illegal copying of music through the Kazaa network.
Yesterday, Music Industry Privacy Investigations obtained court orders allowing its investigators to obtain documents and other electronic records about Kazaa's activities in Australia. Twelve premises were raided in three states this morning.
The premises of Brilliant Digital Entertainment and those of three universities - the University of Queensland, the University of New South Wales and Monash University - were among those raided.
Among other premises raided were those of Akamai Technologies AAP, NTT Australia, Telstra Corporation and NTT Australia IP. MIPI said proceedings had begun in the Federal Court after a six-month investigation.

Got a special song? Your Valentine's Day special request? Here's mine: I found this live version of
Byran Adams' Heaven on the 'net...
What's yours?
Valentine's Day Around The world

And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven

Sugababes - Too Lost In You
Posted by MikeyMike at 08:44 AM on February 20, 2004.
This group was recommended by Zhi Wen (and others) I really love this one -
Too Lost In You. It took forever to find a version that wasn't altered!

But here's one, even though it's a Windows Media type. I like presenting songs that many people (including me) wouldn't normally hear... Like this UK group!
You'd never know by reading the lyrics just how good this song is - those luscious gurl harmonies!
Btw, most of the songs I post have the lyrics embedded in them. WinAmp can display lyrics with an add on. And so can Windows Media Player9. There is a WMP add on called "LyricsAmp 4 WMP" that can go find lyrics on the 'net for ya'. The main site is dead, but other sites still have it...
Just got the video for this one! It's got your normal Walking through the airport/bondage/clips from the movie
(Love, Actually)
Too big to post here (10.5mb) but worth a search... (sugababes_too_lost_in_you_dsl.wmv)

Google (Blogger.com) Spurns RSS for Atom
Posted by MikeyMike at 06:01 PM on February 22, 2004.
Here's an interesting article from one of my favorite nerd sites - Cnet's
www.news.com This article is talking about something I've hardly heard about, except from the ahead-of-curve Zhi Wen...
Apparently Blogger.com (owned by Google) is now only allowing syndication of blogger sites using the new Atom format, without the ability to use the older, widely used RSS also. Do you care? Maybe not now, but it's good to know what's out there... I'd like to know what you peeps already using RSS think about this. Does it matter?

In the purchasing realm, I finally bought
Lost In Translation DVD, The new Bisbal
Buleria CD and the new Simon and Garfunkel
Best Of CD. JenJen keeps referring to S&G songs lately, so I had to get it, even thought I have tons of their recordings... (
America is so evocative of a certain place and time for me!) I couldn't find any Sugababes CDs!

But these others should keep me busy for a while...
Gotta' get ready for work soon. I'll update this post with more URLs and such later... Hope everyone's well and staying DRY!

Camile Velasco on American Idol
Posted by MikeyMike at 11:52 PM on February 26, 2004.
Wow, there's somebody on this year's American Idol (3) that has me excited! I never get to watch this show live, because I'm always working on Tuesday nights... But people (are you listening Jen?) keep me informed, since that first year with Kelly Clarkson and Justin What's-his-name...
Anyway, Camile seems really talented. And she's a former pancake resturant waitress, so she can't be all bad!
I've got a video here, not the usual mp3... You'll need Windows Media Player to view it. But good ol' Chairman Bill practically forces it to be on your PC, so you most likely do... She's singing
One Last Cry...
You guys have heard about that William Hung dude singing
She Bangs, right?!? :O
The famous She Bangs video !! And, um... no "hung" jokes, OK?
