Search Your PC with Google Desktop

I found this cool
Google Desktop (beta) utility to search your PC's hard drive like the regular Google searches the web!
It works amazingly well on my PC. I found some stuff I'd forgotten about completely... Here's their take on it:
1. What does Google Desktop Search do?
With Google Desktop Search, you can search the full text of your email, files, viewed web pages, and chats. Specifically, you can:
Search email from Outlook 2000+ and Outlook Express 5+
Search files in TXT, HTML, DOC, XLS, and PPT formats (Office 2000+)
Search chats from AOL 7+ and AOL Instant Messenger 5+
Search web pages viewed in Internet Explorer 5+
2. Why is this useful?
Since you can easily search information on your computer, you don't need to worry about organizing your files, email, or bookmarks. You can just do a quick search for what you remember seeing, instead of having to remember exactly what file, email, or web page had that information, and where that item is now located on your computer.

Veteran's Day

I was a medic in the Army and today is Veteran's Day in the US. Many of you might not be familiar with Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, given at the dedication of the burial grounds there during the US Civil War. One of the most poignant things ever written on this subject, I believe...
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.
It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

Just saw a commercial from Mastercard with a contest that if you win, you and twenty friends can go
anywhere in the world! Where shall we go when I win???
PS - I just realized that the iPod wasn't setup to look In "My Music"! (I have most of my new music on my I: drive 120gb external drive) lol
Now I'm up to 5gb on the iPod...

If I'm Not In Love With You, by far her most famous song. It was also recorded by Faith Hill. Wow, I dung out her first album that contains it, titled simply
Kathy Troccoli and every song on there is good to great! Some of her songs have a religious theme, but aren't "preachy", if you know what I mean. She has a Greatest Hits out too. Listen on Amazon or iTunes and see what you think!

Got yours yet? I bought Yahoo's paid account and got 2gb and 25mb file attachments, so not an issue for me. And I only keep Hotmail because a few others use it. But I am using Yahoo more and more for all the services they offer. How about you? Got your 250MB yet??
Microsoft and Yahoo have promised to boost storage limits for their free e-mail services, but for many users, the upgrades haven't been delivered.

Got my pumpkin pies from Marie Callenders today. And picked up the egg nog!! Holiday season has arrived - even in sunny California, where Santa wears sunglasses!
