A Fresh Start

Posted by crystal_sapphire at 10:55 PM on December 2, 2008.

Living in the past, using the present

to wish for health, happiness and

self-fulfiment somewhere and

at the same time in the future

is the type of negative thinking

we need to change.

We are masterpieces of creation,

totally unique, goodness is the positive force of our nature.

That force has to be the foundation

of any new and lasting start.

Think in a non-agresive way, only

good thoughts about yourself; in all things focus only on the doing,

never on the end result, this builds our confidence

and brings us into the present moment.

The love, happiness and freedom

we seek will begin to grow from within.

We need not to search for it,

it will find us if we let it.

Barracuda i just like the rythm

Posted by crystal_sapphire at 06:33 PM on December 2, 2008.

So this aint the end -
I saw you again today
I had to turn my heart away
Smiled like the sun -
Kisses for real
And tales - it never fails!

You lying so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me
Youd have me down down down down on my knees
Now wouldnt you, barracuda?

Back over time we were all
Trying for free
You met the porpoise and me
No right no wrong, selling a song-
A name, whisper game.

If the real thing dont do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooh, barracuda?

Sell me sell you the porpoise said
Dive down deep down to save my head
You...i think you got the blues too.

All that night and all the next
Swam without looking back
Made for the western pools - silly fools!

If the real thing dont do the trick
No, you better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooohhhh, barra barracuda.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.

rediscoveries

Posted by ree at 01:32 AM on December 2, 2008 in crossposted to msree.livejournal.com, roleplay, literature.

I have been trawling through the mud that is my website. It's accumulated many layers over the years. Even I don't know anymore what's in some directories. I decided I should find out.

And found this. She could still taste the cream. That's going to ring a bell with a few people. They know exactly why my face is very, very warm right now. Oh my.

It wasn't even in a hidden directory! Anybody could have wandered in. Must password-protect. Or move out of /public_html/ anyway. How embarrassing.

(The quote is from a story I wrote years ago. It... it wasn't terrible, but it was remarkably derivative and more than a little high-strung.)

December 1st, 2008

this is ridiculous!

Posted by roy at 08:38 PM on December 1, 2008 in Foolishness.

Ok, so first off, I want to thank everybody for the birthday wishes. I'm one of those strange people who like to try to hide my birthdate, but some of you still manage to wish me happy birthday. I actually think I got the most wishes this year (thanks in part to my workplace - I tried once to remove my birthdate from the company calendar, but failed). Thank you much!

I can now rent a car without paying jacked up prices! Yay! The next age milestone I have to look forward to is 59 1/2, when I can start putting pulling (what an embarassing typo) out what remains of my Roth IRA without paying taxes (ooooh). Yay, life.

Now, onto a more serious topic. One of my friends (*COUGH JENNIFER COUGH*) recently went to England for Thanksgiving break. While at Stonehenge, guess who she ran into?

RACHEL MCADAMS. RACHEL. FRIGGIN. MCADAMS.

And you know what infuriates me?! She didn't even TRY to hook me up with her!

How hard would it have been to be like, "Oh, Rachel, I love your work! Can I get a picture with you? Great, thanks! By the way, I know this AWESOME guy - you'd make the cutest couple! Can I pass him your contact information? You should totally marry him."

HOW HARD?! HOW HARD, DO I ASK?????

P.S. I thought Jennifer was pulling my leg until she provided picture proof - dag it!

No one will ever equate the love he has shown his wife and family.

You will surely be missed Grandpa.

We love you
